ASTER is the Consortium among the Emilia-Romagna Region, Universities, Research Organisations, Associations and Local Companies aiming to support, co-ordinate and consolidate the Emilia-Romagna Research and Technological Transfer Network in order to create synergies between research and industry. Since 2005 ASTER has co-ordinated the High-Tech Network of Emilia-Romagna, financed by the Region of Emilia-Romagna, which has involved about 300 new young researchers in the 57 structures (27 Industrial Research Laboratories, 24 Centres for Innovation and 6 Parks for Innovation), dedicated to industrial research, innovation and technological transfer and located all over in Emilia-Romagna. One of the local project of Aster is the management of specialised guidance services to users of Public Employment Centre. Between 1993 and 2003, Aster managed the National Resource Centre for Guidance – Training and Career Area promoted by the Ministry of Labour – UCOFPL and the European Commission – Education and Culture DG and co-ordinated by the Emilia-Romagna Region.
MELIUS s.r.l. International Mobility and Employment/Consulting, Services, Research (Italy) is a private organisation working in the education, vocational guidance, employment fields at a transnational level. It carries out research activities and specific services in the above-mentioned fields, also on behalf of private and public bodies. Its members have high and well-developed experience in research and project management of transnational mobility, vocational guidance and employment activities, tools and services. The services offered by MELIUS can be grouped in 3 main areas of activities: 1) Vocational guidance to support the international mobility. 2) Advice and job matching at a transnational level (according to what was established by the Italian decree with the force of law 276/2003). 3) Project planning and management, research activities and technical assistance to public and private bodies in vocational guidance and employment fields. In the field of education, training, guidance, labour market policies several researches, pilot activities have been carried out by the company staff.
Miguel Escalera’s Foundation of Training and Employment (FOREM), is a non-lucrative and private foundation, promoted by Comisiones Obreras Trade Union Confederation (CC.OO.) for the promotion, the direction management and the training for the employment in our country. The CC.OO.’s Trade Union Confederation, being aware of the need to offer efficient and quality answers to the constant training and professional qualifications needs of all the employees, founded FOREM on 1989, consolidating nowadays as the FOREM Network, constituted by self-governing foundations on all regional fields. FOREM’s activity among all productive sectors and among all territorial fields, in addition to the use of new communication’s and information’s Technologies, allow the management of learning for wide student groups, as well as designing personalised training solutions, with the quality commitment and constant innovation. FOREM produces and transmits knowledge to help changing people, business and organisations. CC.OO. through FOREM, will help workers establish a training itinerary adjusted to their needs and professional interests, using the National Professional Qualifications System
The University of Santiago de Compostela has more than 500 years of existence and has the functions of a Center of Superior Education as they are those of academic formation of the university students of degree, master and doctorate and in addition those to basic research, applied, of development and technological innovation. It has more than 30,000 university students and is located in the capital of the Autonomous Community of Galicia (Spain). In the last ten years in the Faculty of Sciences of the Education were developed to five courses Master of Vocational Guidance with 200 graduated that in their majority exerts like professionals of the Counselling in scholastic, social and labour institutions. The specific areas and referring competences to the project of proposed research work talk about to the design and formative development of referring actions to the integration of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) through the map of competences previously elaborated in the activities of the professional development of the Educative and Professional Counsellors through a virtual platform. Also functions of supervision, pursuit and evaluation of the quality of the made activities and elaboration of the corresponding Memory of evaluation will be made.
Centro Studi Pluriversum is an Italian private training and guidance center, engaged in the field of career education and career counselling. We cooperate with the local authorities and in particular with the Employment Offices to offer vocational training and guidance for young people and unemployed persons. We are specialized in planning and managing innovative projects in the field of education, guidance and employment politics. We cooperate with the University of Florence to train guidance counsellors and to develop innovative tools and methodologies for training and guidance. We take part in international and national networks to improve and spread better practices in the field of guidance and training. We are involved in research activities with ISFOL, the national research institution of the Labour Ministry. CS Pluriversum is a member of AIOSP-IAEVG (International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance) and of the National Dissemination Network, the Italian network of the Euroguidance Resources Center.
Cyborg is a 20 years experience SME working in the field of Information and Communication Technology. The main businesses of the enterprise deal with the developing of information systems for Local and Central Public Administrations and the developing of services for innovation and training. Cyborg has a particular expertise in e-learning solutions and systems, mostly with developing large project at national and regional level involving public funds. Cyborg has important institutional relations with University and Research System. In particular in 1995 has participated in the constitution of the non profit Consorzio Multimedia together with University of Chieti with the mission of developing distance learning services for education and training, has participated in 2000 in the constitution of the non profit Consorzio per lo Sviluppo del Mezzoggiorno COSVIM, inter-university consortium for research and development on local scale, has participated in 2004 in the constitution of the University Spin Off Beep Innovation together with University of l’Aquila and Scientific and Technologic Park of Abruzzo.
The Institute of Educational Sciences is the national research authority having the status of an autonomous body, within the Ministry of Education and Research. Its policy is oriented toward implementing the provisos of the education law and other ministry regulations, by the means of research, teachers training, field enquiries and system evaluation. The studies conducted in the network of school units, school inspectorates, co-ordinating agencies result in justification documents and alternative proposals designed to improve quality of the secondary education and to level with the communitarian undertakings in the field. The organisation is open to partnership with training providers, market-oriented institutions, universities and research bodies, national or transnational. Presently, in the Institute of Educational Sciences are hosted the Centre Euroguidance, the ReferNet national point, and the former National Observatory in the ETF network.
NICEC is a network organisation initiated and sponsored by CRAC. NICEC's objectives are: to develop theory, through the convening of, and contributing to, seminars and conferences, and through a sustained output of thoughtful, informed and high quality publications: to inform policy through representation on national bodies, convening policy consultations and other activities to enhance practice in the broad fields of career guidance and career development through staff development, consultancy and research. Working through a national network of Fellows and Associates with a range of guidance specialisms, it has thirty years’ experience and expertise in conducting applied research, evaluation and development work in guidance and related areas, across a range of settings including educational institutions, the workplace and the wider community. NICEC is also involved in international activities, to enable lessons to be learned in the UK from experience elsewhere and UK experience to be disseminated overseas. This work is supported by its International Fellows. NICEC works within a set of principles which define a way of working for members of the Network, as well as ensuring a quality response to external contractors.
The Centre for Training in Career Guidance situated within the School of Psychology, has a well respected national and international reputation in the guidance profession. It offers a portfolio of professional programmes covering the initial training in career guidance (Postgraduate Diploma in Career Guidance/QCG and Postgraduate Certificate in Career Guidance Practice) and certificated continuing professional development (Master of Arts in Careers). Members of the team are professionally qualified in career guidance/occupational psychology and have a proven track record in designing and delivering training. All three are qualified to teach in Higher education and two are fellows of the Higher education Academy.
