The project objectives

According to the context, it is clear that LLL practitioners need specific training in the field of the ICT. Nevertheless, they do not only need to acquire basic ICT skills (there are courses on that and more or less the digital literacy is quite spread among them) but specific ICT-based competences, affecting the practitioners’ relationship with their clients.

The project aim will be that to develop innovative ICT-based training and tools to be used for the competences improvement of LLL practitioners in the use of the ICT when delivering LLL services to their clients. Thanks to the project LLL practitioners will have the possibilities to improve their competences in the use of ICT-based tools and methodologies in their relationship with clients. Thus will contribute to innovate LLL services, to reduce management costs and to reach reduce the gap between clients and traditional LLL services.

Specifically, the ICT Skills 2 project will offer to LLL practitioners the possibility to:

- test their already owned ICT competences acquired within different contexts, also informal ones (i.e. in the personal life), thanks to the use of an on-line skills assessment tool which will be based on a standard e-practitioner profile, shared at transational level but flexible enough to be adapted within other national and sectoral contexts. The on-line skills assessment tool will be connected to the map of ICT competences developed within the associated project ICT Skills for Guidance Counsellors (www.ictskills.org);

- access to a specific training which will be composed both by distance and presential modules, based on credits or units so that the practitioner will be able to follow just those modules that will give him/her those competences not already owned;

- include the competences already owned or the competences acquired during the training in a personal e-portfolio. The portfolio will be validated at a transnational level within the project but that could be validated at a national or local level by any institutional body in charge with certification issues.

For that the project will frame an open source platform to which LLL practitioners of all partner countries (mainly guidance practitioners but also trainers and teachers) will have free access and where they will use different on-line tools.
